TOP FIVE NEW ARTISTES OF THE YEAR,2016

2016 has been another blessed season for emerging musicians. Just like last year, this year has seen a high number of extraordinary newcomers in the music industry.

They made hits, took over stages, headlined concerts and gave some mainstream musicians the competitions they hardly encounter in their career.
From A.I to Medikal, we bring you a list of 5 best newcomers who also ruled the year 2016 just like the mainstreamers.

1. Medikal

Medikal, signed with Criss Waddle’s AMG Business record label started off the year with a hit song titled “Confirm” . Since then, he’s been buzzing and he seems not to stop dropping hit songs. He has worked with Sarkodie, Joey B, Bisa Kdei, Mr Eazi and a lot more. I won’t be surprised if he wins the “Best New Artiste” award at 2017 Ghana Music Awards .

2. Worlasi

Since breaking through in 2015 with his 13-track mixtape titled “ŋusẽ” (Strength Within), the Supreme Rights record label artiste never seize to amaze Ghanaian music lovers. He dropped another 13-track Mixtape titled “Uncut” this year just to keep his shape in the industry.
He has worked with some industry greats this year and headlined his own successful concert at Alliance Française in Accra. He was featured on E.L’s
“B.A.R 3” and M.anifest’s “Nowhere Cool” albums » .

3.A.I

Versatility is another definition of Ayisi
aka A.I. The Afro-pop, Hip-hop and R&B artiste who is signed with 2 Ligits Records broke through the mainstream with "Anger Management" and followed up this year with another hit titled
“Grind” . The Afro-pop jam comes off of Vision DJ’s “Blow Chicken” album. Apart from that, A.I has collaborated with top notch musicians including E.L and Trigmatic. He was featured on E.L’s “B.A.R 3” album.

4. Fancy Gadam

The vibrant and budding Tamale-based Afro-Dancehall and Afro-pop artiste has proven to Ghanaians what he is made of. Fancy Gadam is on records to have filled Tamale Sports Stadium, a 20,000 capacity stadium – the first in history. He also stormed Accra this month and filled the National Theatre with his own concert dubbed “Gadam Nation Concert” . Even though his hit songs haven’t dominated the southern part of Ghana, he has made a lot of impacts this year. He has had a nascent career so far.

5. Article Wan

Article Wan ruled the year 2016 with
“Solo”. The Afro-Dancehall song has enjoyed massive airplay since it was released in July. He has shared stages with some top artistes including E.L, Sarkodie, Edem and VVIP
